Blood Orange and Vanilla Bean Old Fashioned

083My friend Ana and I love the classic Old Fashioned drink. It has become a weekly tradition of ours to visit our favorite bar, sip Old Fashioned’s and catch up. On a particularly cold and snowy friday night, we decided to stay indoors an make our own Old Fashioned recipes using some of our favorite flavors. Our first creation was a Blood Orange Old Fashioned which had a refreshing combination of citrus and sweet. Our second mixture was the Vanilla Bean Old Fashioned which had a warm, sweet and spicy taste making it the perfect Winter cocktail.

Blood Orange Old Fashioned:
Ingredients-
-Bourbon
-Aromatic bitters
-1 blood orange
-Simple syrup (boil water with sugar and let cool)
At the bottom of your cocktail glass, muddle two small blood orange slices and top glass with ice. In a cocktail shaker with ice, pour 3oz. of bourbon, 1oz of simple syrup, and a few splashes of aromatic bitters. Shake well and strain into glass. Garnish with blood orange slice.

Vanilla Bean Old Fashioned:
